HARP Proudly Supports the PSC Acquisition Planning Conference:
On June 21, 2022, the Professional Services Council (PSC) held its annual Federal Acquisition Conference in-person at the Westin Hotel in Arlington, Virginia, and virtually. The theme of this year’s event was “Talent, Time and Risk Management: Collaborating in a Competitive Federal Marketplace.”
Chaired by Ann-Marie Johnson of CGI, this conference focused on delivering information on the real, practical ways in which Government and Industry partners can work together. The goal of this event was to discuss ways in which Industry can creatively and expeditiously support Federal agency missions as well as a help agencies access much-needed capabilities and innovation solutions.
HARP President Andrea C. McCarthy served on the Planning Committee with an array of other Industry leaders.
Lesley Field, the Deputy Administrator for Federal Procurement Policy in the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), was the featured keynote speaker. Her office is responsible for developing and implementing Governmentwide policies to support over $550 billion in federal contracting each year.
PSC’s Executive Vice President for Policy Stephanie Kostro debuted the fourth edition of PSC’s annual Federal Business Forecast Scorecard which ranks procurement forecasts from 60+ federal agencies and sub-components.
One of the several sessions of the day was a panel discussion entitled, “Managing Cyber Risk in IT Procurements” moderated by Jeff Chen of Red Team Consulting. Featured speakers included:
- Mara Winn, Associate Director for Planning and Coordination, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) National Risk Management Center (NRMC)
- Craig Kaucher, Assistant PEO for Cyber and Operations, PEO at Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA)
- Jennifer A. Swanson, Chief Engineer, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics & Technology (virtual)
- Ricky Clark, Deputy Director, National Institutes of Health Information Technology Acquisition and Assessment Center, HHS
The other panels topics included “Countering the Great Resignation: Recruitment and Retention in a Tight Talent Marketplace” followed by another panel discussion on Increasing Speed of Award: Challenges and Opportunities.”
It was an excellent conference full of actionable data and useful exchanges between Government and Industry and was very timely too given the current dynamics in Federal Government contracting.
